Mahuli is a few miles off Asangaon. Four of us went trekking there last Saturday. Rupali, I, Namrata, Jaxie Shelar.
We got down at Asangaon at around midnight and walked to Mahuli village. We went along the track northwards, then went upto the highway, crossed it. We slept at a temple. Couldn't sleep a wink, it was damn chilly. Lit a campfire and passed time till day-break.
Trek isn't much difficult. Up there, is a cave-complex and a water tank. Climb took three hours, but we trekked a little slow. Descent took around two hours.

Chanderi
Chanderi is in Panvel Taluka of Raigad district.
We took 7.45 bus from Panvel to Maldunga/Dodane. Half-an-hour later, we got off near Gyadeshwar bund.
We went along a ridge which is made up of several `humps', then turned and climbed up right to reach the foot of the top-hill. You can't go further up, unless you are ready to scale the bluff.
Around you, you spot Prabal Gad, Haji Malang, and what is called Navra-Navri (The couple).
There is cave there. One water tank was dirty, another had dried up.
It was exhausting. Walk along the top of humps had some scary moments.
I did this trek with Girivihar, a Dadar-centred group.
We got down by six in the evening. Bus leaves for Panvel around seven.
